August Update on Everything (I Guess)
a late follow-up from 2023
I’m Agented!
one of the biggest news that came shortly after the first half of the year is that i am agented! i signed with my agent on july 22nd and i’m enjoying my time out of the query trenches.
if you have missed my LIVE on tiktok, i promise i will make an in-depth blog talking about my querying journey in the future. the reason why i’m not doing it now is because i don’t want people to think getting agented means i have made it. i am still learning to navigate this new path and the book deal is still far ahead. however, i will be doing a query critic and moodboard giveaway on my twitter. as a good query blurb and a powerful moodboard really secured my success in querying. if this is something you are interested in, please give me a follow for when i announce the giveaway!
I’m Working On A Dark Academia Project
so now that i am waiting for my edit letter, i am working on a new project. it is a Dark Academia Romantic Fantasy featuring two rival academics as they enter a competition that may risk the lives they thought they knew. here is a blurb for it!
Two university students enter a competition, using incantation spells to create parts for a mechanical beast. It becomes a problem when they learn what the government is hell-bent on hiding and how they’re pawns of the occupying force. As they race to decrypt every spell, their lives are traded for the truth.since end of july until now, i also joined an impromptu challenge with my friends to write 10,000 words a week. as of today, i have written 40k in 4 weeks. i hope to bring it to a readable stage before sending the first half off to my agent.

I’ve Been Slacking in Terms of Reading
reading has been an up-hill battle. after i finished drafting my first book, i hit a reading slump (and a writing slump too but i just force myself to write). the quality of the books i read are REALLY good, though. perhaps sometimes it’s good to slow down to enjoy a story.
